Update to the update…

As in all things Arch, a kernel update came in over night so I have rebuilt and uploaded a new iso. Will leave yesterdays iso on source forge in case there are any issues with new one. Have rebuilt an old laptop that belonged to my daughter, something I bought for her a few years Update to the update…

Live, from Ram, Persistence?

A question I get asked often is can ArchBang run from ram or with persistence from usb. The answer is yes to a degree it can, live! Running live via usb is never going to be as fast as installed, either to usb drive or in a system [disk/ssd]. Persistence was a way for CD Live, from Ram, Persistence?

Minor upcoming changes

Had feedback on config_edit script, which is mentioned in Guide but I removed it from recent releases. Have re-written script, it now uses rofi. If you use Super + Shift + e it will run script and allow you to edit mirrors [Servers], Pacman config file, Openbox menu, Openbox key binds and Openbox autostart. You Minor upcoming changes

Autumn release ;-)

Am uploading Autumn release finally. Updated packages, themes and i3 packages and configs. If you want to try out i3 live then simply edit .xinitrc and change exec openbox-session to exec i3. Log oout of openbox [openbox –exit] and check out a tiling window manager. Been a very odd year for releases and ArchBang has Autumn release 😉

Gitlab Fail!

Have never had much luck using git. Mostly use it to back up source files in ArchBang project. Yesterday after updating source on GitLab managed to spell Autumn incorrectly and made commit! Ok easy fix just google and find the answer. Then things went from back to worse! So figured the only other course of Gitlab Fail!

Autumn Release… WIP

Have started work on Autumn release. Will wait for next kernel update for a final release [hopefully the 1st of November]. Will upload a ‘beta’ version iso today and then make any final changes to new release. Think a screenshot might help…. New wallpaper and themes, firefox is back. Gtk3 theme has also fixed missing Autumn Release… WIP

Autumn is coming…

Have built and uploaded a new iso. Am going to start work on a new release for Autumn. New themes, wallpaper and colours. Had an interesting email in the week regarding dual booting with windows. It is certainly possible but am always wary of a new user destroying partitions and losing data. You will need Autumn is coming…

ArchBang RC release

Well still looking for the perfect autumn background but have uploaded a new iso image. Have gone ‘rc’ as I am going to start working on autumn release over next few weeks. Netsurf is back for now, purely to reduce build time and size of image. Had a message regarding stopping notifications [battery/ac]. Easy fix ArchBang RC release
