Quick iso update

Have built and uploaded a new iso image. May not get an iso out next with holidays fast approaching. Think might be looking early new year now. Can look at Winter version. It will include i3 window manager, if I can get my act together. Will try to keep project alive as long as I Quick iso update

Quick update

I have removed Vintage-ArchBang folder, seemed to have little or no interest. Old iso images from main downloads removed also. The latest release does now include vim editor. This is more for my personal pleasure as I am always finding myself using vim keys in nano! Next release will see files in /etc/skel removed, it Quick update

Live, from Ram, Persistence?

A question I get asked often is can ArchBang run from ram or with persistence from usb. The answer is yes to a degree it can, live! Running live via usb is never going to be as fast as installed, either to usb drive or in a system [disk/ssd]. Persistence was a way for CD Live, from Ram, Persistence?

Minor upcoming changes

Had feedback on config_edit script, which is mentioned in Guide but I removed it from recent releases. Have re-written script, it now uses rofi. Autumn release ;-)

Am uploading Autumn release finally. Updated packages, themes and i3 packages and configs. If you want to try out i3 live then simply edit .xinitrc and change exec openbox-session to exec i3. Log oout of openbox [openbox –exit] and check out a tiling window manager. Been a very odd year for releases and ArchBang has Autumn release 😉
