Well once again I should have waited until today to build iso image. Arch has updated kernel so I am rebuilding image. Upload as soon as it is done. Like to keep image as fresh as I can. Next Friday will be last image I upload before starting on Winter release. Really hope I can … Kernel Update….
Am building this weeks iso image as I write this post. Mostly updated packages with two minor changes. Boot menu option for copytoram has been removed, if you have enough ram and root image is less than 4Gb (which it should be!) image will be loaded to ram. Only just noticed that ArchBang live iso is loading root image to ram regardless of which option you chose in boot menu. Have had copy to ram as an option for many years and never really thought much about it. Basically Archiso automatically loads to ram if root image is less than 4Gb and ram … Copy to ram option for ArchBang live…
Just seen kernel update, will rebuild iso image and upload it. Typical guess I should wait until Sunday morning before building image. Like to keep packages as fresh as possible and give users the best chance of having the smallest update possible post install. Right have to reboot now to get allow me to build … Should have waited….
I normally use an alias for pacman updates which is fine as I tend to live in a terminal… There are of course GUI wrappers for pacman out there but I have no need of them.
