Uploading a new version of ArchBang32 with a minor fix to abinstall, to allow it to run from keybind/menu. Sneak peek at Summer version… Sorry for the noise… Stay safe 😉

I have no idea what I was thinking while testing out my vintage ArchBang iso. No idea why but I decided to try and install it, in my arch32 virtual machine. This wiped out my 32bit build virtual machine. So had to think fast, reinstall archbang32. Drag in archbang source files. Modify them to work … 32bit iso Fail….
Another week another iso. Mostly updates nothing more. Do have to update archiso and add some more to openbox config. Been testing out ArchCraft. Very slick and beautiful to look at, Openbox never looked better. Over the years I had removed the pipe menus that came with ArchBang in its early days. Check out ArchBang … Upcoming changes and a blast from the past!
After updating my system I noticed that pacman 6 has been released. Thought it would be nice to bring iso up to date so everyone can try it out. Will remove alpha release… Enjoy 😉
I do a lot of testing of ArchBang live under a Virtual Machine and one thing I miss is a way of opening a terminal to fill screen. Unlike other terminals Lxterminal does not have a maximize option. So after some reading online and trying out different options. From rc.xml file: Add key bind…[Super+Enter] <keybind … Lxterminal fullscreen from a keybind….
Another week another updated iso. Found that dmenu was not working live so have fixed that, am guessing no one really uses it. Dmenu is quite a useful thing to have, hit Super (windows key) and ‘d’ and a menu pops up at top of screen. Type in a application name, select it or just … Back to normal and Dmenu fix!
New iso is available (beta for now), should now have nvme support. Added a you tube video on pacman 6, wanted to see what all the hype is. Watch it here! Would not normally install Gnome but it a good way of seeing how it works (and it looks fast) Currently it is in staging … Updated iso available and a quick video on pacman 6
Have made a very small addition to allow nvme drive to work with abinstall. It was pointed out by an ArchBang user who contacted me, after having an issue with finding devices. It is such an easy fix that I have added it too updated iso. Marked this version beta for testing purposes. Will more … Beta update..
Quick updated iso, not really many changes other than I have removed archinstall. Shipping iso with python added near 100Mbs to image. If you really want to testout archinstall live it not that difficult. Given a working network connection open a terminal and run the following: sudo nano /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist # uncomment your local servers… sudo … Archinstall out, iso with Abinstall in….
Thinking of adding some videos of ArchBang installation on YouTube. Under Virtualbox it is very easy to record a virtual machine. To get started I have done one on Archlabs. Going to regret saying this but Like, Share and Subscribe 😉
