New iso and Syncthing file sharing application…

Last night uploaded a new iso image, fresh packages and new kernel.

The DWM poll did not really get many votes so am guessing no one is really interested in having a tiling window manager in ArchBang. Think I will remove it from iso image in favour of a possible DWM based only version.

It also highlights to me that this blog is not really viewed that much in comparison to number of weekly downloads. Which is a shame as I try to keep users informed of any changes or major updates and some of my own personal insights into my Linux world.

This week I was watching Distro Tube on You Tube and Derek was talking about Syncthing. A file sharing application that works via a browser gui. I normally use sshfs but it is awkward and does not really work on all my devices so was looking for an easier way to do it. This you tube video explains more about Syncthing.

It is something I would gladly add to ArchBang, imagine if you wanted to recover a large number of files or run a simple file server. Certainly something I might think about for upcoming Spring release.

As always keep the coffee coming, donations help keep project alive…

Stay safe…
