Upcoming ArchBang release and fixing features…

Am working towards a Autumn release got a new theme, wallpaper and ironing out features before I build and upload. More than likely it will be early September just to make sure things are right.

Did find something I had not seen before when I replaced internal drive on my laptop. ArchBang booted fine it copied to ram as laptop has 16gb installed and went ahead with install as normal. However it could not find kernel image. By default mkarchiso clears out vmlinuz and initramfs as it is not needed on the actual live image overlay. After copy to ram the image is no longer tied to iso image, allowing a user to remove said device if they so wish. For me it meant that /bootmnt is not present in /run.

Copytoram in mkarchiso is automatic, if fires on systems with enough ram to hold image, not sure I want to disable the feature as some might find it useful….

It is an easy fix I just restarted iso and added to command line copytoram=no and it runs as normal.

This gives me a feature I need to figure out, easy option stop copytoram running via syslinux or systemd-boot [uefi] or move kernel image to where installer can find it. Some code logic to think about.

So much hype on the web about Omarchy, check out omunchybang live version before lawyers contact me…

Enjoy rest of your weekend.

Stay safe…..
