Making SwayBANG installer work again!

During testing I noticed that SwayBANG installer is not working. Was trying [and failing!] to get install to run in the background to speed up install time. Running a shell in a shell starts to get messy so I need to figure out how I can do it.

To test new installer please run the following in a terminal:

cd SB_Scripts
sudo -EH ./sbinstall # -EH is needed for gparted to work

Installer is broken down into separate scripts for easy maintenance.

You will notice that while setting locales it will try to guess keyboard layout.

Mirrorlist uses all mirrors so user will need to edit post install to get local mirrors set.

User and Root will use same password, this of course can be changed post install using passwd command [as root]

For now I have made a fix to allow install to run as normal then mkinitcpio is run.

Really do not like the awful nm-applet icon, you can of course install a nice icon set post install. Live it would add to image size for no real gain in function. Am going to go back to waybars built in network applet. 😉

SwayBANG is more of a testing ground for me at the moment so please consider it ‘beta’ and will have features.

Look and theme are very much like ArchBang and I have included rofi as an application launcher.

Will be away for a few days over weekend, will get ArchBANG iso image updated [with latest kernel as of today!]

Stay safe….
