GreenBANG and SwayBANG iso updates..

I am pleased to announce fresh updates for both GreenBANG and SwayBANG. These builds bring them right up to date with the latest archlinux kernel.

The latest GreenBANG release continues our goal of keeping things minimal and lightweight while still giving you everything you need to get started quickly. With updated packages, a cleaner Openbox experience, and improved base tools, it remains a fast, reliable option for those who like to stay close to Arch while enjoying a ready-to-go system.

Refreshed Openbox theme made quite a few subtle changes to theme which I think makes it look even better. Minor changes to Polybar though nothing major.

SwayBANG is also now available in its updated form, offering a Wayland-native experience for those who prefer tiling window management. This release ships with the newest archlinux kernel and updated Wayland components, making it more stable on modern hardware. With Sway, Waybar, and autotiling enabled by default, it provides a fresh yet familiar workflow.

Had a request from a user about a way to make accessing the installer easier. Did not have any idea on how to autolaunch it, this to me would be messy and just get in the way. So had to think about another option. As waybar can use launchers, it struck me I could use rofi to present a menu that a user could simply chose from. You will see a green gear icon on Waybar panel that on clicking brings up a list of options. This should make getting to installer far easier. It also includes other things that maybe useful. Can of course add more options, any suggestions?

Still not happy with the overall look of Waybar panel, still needs more work but some of the changes I have made make it more like Polybar in GreenBANG. Still think it is cluttered and could be made much cleaner.

Support the Project

Maintaining GreenBANG and SwayBANG takes a lot of time and effort — I am effectively running two distributions in parallel and covering hosting costs myself. If you find these projects useful, please consider helping to support their development. Even a small donation goes a long way toward keeping the lights on and ensuring I can keep pushing out new releases.
