Have been updating look and theme of MiniBANG, it looked awful if I am totally honest. It was a bit of a rushed together image and it was more about proof of concept.
Have not used i3 titling window manager for many years, went over to Wayland and sway and never looked back. So it came as a bit of a shock to suddenly try to build a minimal version of ArchBANG for older lower powered laptops.
How it is looking now:
Latest image is around 900Mbs and could go smaller..
Zram has been added as a kind of live swap, so running at 1Gb any less you can go into tty only via a bootcheat code live. This would mean it may run on 512Mbs [though not tested].
I do know installer works, made a few small fixes more related to keyboard layout [something I forgotten about!]. Once installed you are then free to install whatever you so wish.
For me it is a dream to maintain, far less gui stuff. Not saying it will replace ArchBANG, I for one could never live without Firefox 😉
Am away again over weekend so there will be no iso image updates until early next week. Need a break once back will need to think about starting work on Autumn release.
