Well got some good news, managed after quite some work to get GreenBANG running using squashfs. What does this mean? Well instead of whole filesystem going into ram it now loads from squashed image packages, settings etc…leaving more ram for running applications.
With Firefox added you would need 4Gb of ram to even to able to run the browser let alone doing anything heavy. My tests as 2Gb of ram shows near 1.6Gb of ram free in labwc is around 270Mbs. Soon as you start Firefox ram that can be used drops to around 250Mbs left.
Everything else seems to working, network [in a VM] wired. Firefox, terminal, Thunar and of course mousepad. Under Labwc, conky, waybar and wmenu not forgetting mako.
Could do with some feedback on if it works! to start with. Ram of 512Mbs is not anywhere near enough to run a desktop let alone Firefox. Do I switch to a lighter browser?
There is an aok setup scripts in Scripts folder, run it and select your region then apk will run, however it will complain it cannot package to database. Package will still be installed and will work. Again be mindful of ram usage.
Once everyone is happy I can start work on a new look and theme, installer and maybe just maybe sound!
Stay safe 😉
