Made my last upload of an iso image a few days ago. Going to take a break from ArchBang at least until new year. Last couple of weeks have been very busy getting Waybang looking and running how I wanted, couple more little tweaks and we could be looking at a full release.
The plan if no one objects is to make ArchBang Wayland only using Labwc as its base. Xorg is slowly dying for most of the large distros and large window managers. Finding a replacement for Openbox was going to be tough but I think Labwc might just be able to fill the gap. It has most of the features in Openbox with a few nice little extras thrown in. The config structure is similar enough for most Openbox users to figure out.
Am myself still learning what Labwc can do. Margins are my next target I do not think they are present in a Virtual Machine so do need to test on real hardware then I will be happier. Over time I can add more keybinds, functions, menus etc. For now I have a solid base to work from.
Generally very happy with the look, feel and running. Have had some very positive feedback to that end. New feature of copying over live changes in installer has also been a big hit, why did I not think of it before!!!!
Hope to make ArchBang even more beautiful, simple to use and faster to install in the near future.
