Monday Morning

Just a quick update, made some changes over on Sourceforge to reflect new summer i3 version. You will see a new screenshot from summer iso showing a simple i3 key bind menu in rofi. This will be part of next iso image (end of the week). Also made changes to Guide, both on iso image Monday Morning

Starting on new release….

Had a little time over weekend to start work on summer release. One major change is I am switching ArchBang to use i3 tiling window manager. Not a decision I took lightly but I very rarely use Openbox and find it slows down my workflow. I have to be mindful that others may find tiling Starting on new release….

If only I had waited a day…..

Well it had to happen Archlinux has just updated kernel to 5.18. Only saw this when I went to update my laptop this morning. So I thought I would update iso to run 5.18. This will mean a shorter update time during post install. Currently uploading new iso image as I type. No major changes If only I had waited a day…..

Last iso before Summer release.

Will upload a fresh iso image today then will start work on summer release. Do not think there are any major changes in this iso other than systemd update and some xorg packages. Really hoping that I can remove google ads soon, just waiting to get to $60 (minimum before payout can be made). Think Last iso before Summer release.

Nice Fresh Iso with 5.17.7 Kernel

Uploaded a new iso with latest kernel… Here the sun is finally out so am making the most of the good weather. At the end of month hope to be able to find a new background photo for Summer release. If there are applications or changes that would make ArchBang better then please email me. Nice Fresh Iso with 5.17.7 Kernel

Manic Miner

Am trying out mining on an old Lenovo M73 Think Centre. Plan is to get it running off grid. I have a 100w solar panel, battery and small inverter which would allow me to run without any energy costs. I have not got the money or the capacity on my inverter to run a hungry Manic Miner
