Been a busy week tidying up the ArchBang source.
Core Changes:
✅ Reorganized packages.x86_64 with 14 clear section headers (Audio, Archive Tools, Terminal, Wayland Desktop, etc.)
✅ Added edk2-shell for UEFI rescue/troubleshooting capabilities
✅ Switched ISO version format from DDMM to DDMMYY for chronological sorting (e.g., 140326 = March 14, 2026)
✅ Added file existence checks to customize_airootfs.sh sed commands (prevents silent failures)
✅ Documented hardcoded hostname as intentional for live ISO in customize_airootfs.sh
✅ Added clarifying comment: PulseAudio disabled for PipeWire-only system in waybar config
Installer Menu:
✅ Added wrench icon (🔧) to installer menu item in labwc menu.xml for better visual clarity
Pacman Optimization:
✅ Enabled ParallelDownloads = 5 in pacman.conf for faster package downloads
Uploaded new iso which includes latest kernel [6.19.9] and updated packages.
I have had a few questions about age verification in ArchBang. If Arch Linux makes any changes in that direction, I’ll follow suit — but I have no plans to add it myself.
