#1 ArtixBang OpenRC Version » Really poor downloads on ArtixBang » 2018-06-05 18:14:36

Looking at Source Forge, downloads of ArtixBang are very poor. Will not be updating iso ant time soon. Think Artix already has an iso so no real need for a spin off version ;-)

Will hold leave iso up for now and keep source files...

With recent take over of GitHub by MicroSoft, deleted my account. Looking for an alternative source system provider.

Am uploading a new ArchBang iso, this will be our summer release. Notable changes are I have switched to Netsurf to reduce iso size, new theme and background.

Artix update will follow over next week, then will start working on Autumn versions.

Enjoy wink

Have been working on getting ArtixBang fixed. Did an install using latest iso which highlighted some issue.

Installer was set for linux-lts kernel instead of standard one. (fixed)
Hostname was not set correctly. (fixed)

Grub still has issues, the only way I could get my system to boot partition was to set UUID of / manually.

Did notice another error flash during install (possibly locales), (work in progress)

Seems Arch is updated its kernel daily so very difficult to keep iso up to date!

Just uploaded a new iso, basically updates to older version. We are now including broadcom-wl drivers...

As always you can find isos on sourceforge

https://sourceforge.net/projects/archbang/

#8 Re: ArtixBang OpenRC Version » Grub issue? » 2018-04-14 18:03:34

There is an issue with grub install live, several users have reported this. Only way to get grub to install is run via live iso. Basically you need to mount partitions and then chroot in and then.

# grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

Email me if you need full instructions

We have had over a thousand downloads since start of April which is amazing. Will update ArtixBang very soon.

Please if you can spare a dollar or two then please think about a small donation... See link above

#10 Re: ArtixBang OpenRC Version » Ethernet connection not working? » 2018-04-05 13:55:27

I fired up latest iso and both wireless and  wired connection worked without any issues.

Try:

sudo dhcpcd enp3s0

NetworkManager should find a wired connection without any problem.

#11 Re: ArtixBang OpenRC Version » Ethernet connection not working? » 2018-04-03 13:27:00

I will check under Virtualbox if network is running, you can check if NetworkManager is running by

rc-update

Another thing is check

ip addr

Make sure that eth0 (or similar is listed)

Maybe try

 sudo dhcpcd

I am having problems with Network Manager too, had to resort setting up network manually.

For now look at

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ne … connection

Hope to update iso is the very near future.

Welcome to ArchBang wink

Sounds like the grub issue again, I would chroot in from ArchBang and retry installing grub again. Code in installer is fine and grub reports no errors however it sometimes does fail. Sorry for late reply, still working on forums and setting up (taken me longer, learning all the time)
